Unveiled in April 2016, Iveco’s New Daily E6 range builds on its International Van of the Year 2015-winning predecessor, introducing features that make the New Daily E6 even more comfortable for the driver, offering improved on-road performance, and delivering greater connectivity – all while retaining the lower Total Cost of Ownership that Iveco is best known for.

Central to the New Daily E6 family is Iveco’s class-exclusive eight-speed automated transmission, Hi-Matic. Developed in conjunction with ZF, Hi-Matic is the same class of transmission used by many premium car manufacturers, including those manufactured by Iveco sister group companies, Jeep and Maserati.
Described by Iveco as offering ‘absolute driving pleasure’, the Hi-Matic gearbox stands out for changing gear more quickly and precisely than even the best driver, needing less than 200 milliseconds for a gear shift when greater acceleration is called for. It makes driving more comfortable and, from a safety perspective, allows the driver to focus their attention on the road ahead. What’s more, Hi-Matic is a perfect match for New Daily, and its wider range versus a traditional six-speed transmission ensures a faster and more precise gear change. Wide range of engines
The range’s Hi-Matic gearbox is matched perfectly by the new Euro 6 engine family developed for the New Daily, including models which deliver up to 8 per cent fuel savings and up to 12 per cent savings on repair and maintenance costs.
The New Daily Euro 6 range offers two four-cylinder engines, 2.3 and 3.0 litres, with power ranging from 120 to 210 horsepower, and torque from 320 to 470 Nm – further improving fuel efficiency versus the previous generation Daily.
These models also benefit from Iveco’s intelligent EcoSwitch PRO system, which knows exactly when to step in without intervention from the driver, and recognises if the vehicle is loaded or not – reducing fuel consumption and lowering emissions with no compromise to the customer’s productivity.
The wide engine line-up also includes the New Daily Natural Power, which runs on compressed natural gas (CNG) or compressed biomethane (CBM), providing an advantage in urban areas with restricted traffic thanks to its clean and quiet operation. Iveco also offers the New Daily Electric, a silent, zero-emissions model, which guarantees maximum sustainability.
Maximum driver comfort
The New Daily E6’s redesigned and comfortable interior has been revised to include up to 18 storage compartments strategically placed around the cab for greater accessibility. Plus, Iveco has also introduced further enhancements inside the cab, reducing noise by 4dB for maximum driver and crew comfort.
A stylish dashboard introduces new features designed to create a connected professional workstation, while a DAB digital radio integrated into the dashboard offers all the main DAB and FM features, plus all the multimedia and phone management functionalities expected on a high-end vehicle.
A practical cradle can hold mobile devices of different sizes, and can double as a clipboard. Two easily reachable USB ports make it possible to enjoy multimedia content through the DAB radio, and to charge mobile devices, while an optional inductive charger is also available for smartphones – making New Daily less a van, and more a ‘mobile office’.
Meanwhile, the New Daily E6 model range is the first to feature Iveco’s revolutionary DAILY BUSINESS UP app for tablets and smartphones, which makes New Daily E6 the first light commercial vehicle to take on-board connectivity beyond the concept of infotainment, turning it into a professional work tool with its very own app.
DAILY BUSINESS UP can act as the operator’s Driver Assistant, with features such as the Driving Style Evaluation system, Sygic professional navigation and the Interactive User Handbook.
The app also serves as the driver’s Business Assistant, helping to optimise the fleet’s efficiency with Fleetwork, and to keep track of scheduled services. Customer assistance is also covered, providing a direct link to Assistance Non-Stop – Iveco’s 24/7 roadside assistance service.
The New Daily Euro 6 introduces a new way of delivering connectivity that doesn’t require the installation of any equipment in the vehicle; drivers are able to communicate with the vehicle and its engine through their own smartphone or tablet, with DAILY BUSINESS UP. Bluetooth connection with the vehicle is automatically established through the new radio, making the New Daily Euro 6 a connected professional workstation instantly.
Versatility, durability, reliability
Like its predecessor, the New Daily E6 is the most versatile vehicle in its class, with the widest line-up in the industry, ranging from 3.5 to 7.2 tonnes, and loadspace volumes for van models from 7.3 m³ to 19.6 m³.
The exceptional versatility and variety of versions available – van, semi-windowed van, chassis cab, chassis cowl and crew cab – opens up a wealth of possibilities for a wide variety of missions.
In addition, the range’s unique ladder frame chassis, which is engineered with C-section side members in special steel, is the best platform for bodybuilders to adapt for very diverse missions, such as motorhomes, ambulances and bodies for vehicle recovery or refuse/recycling collection duties.
This versatility is further extended with the introduction of the new 5,100 mm wheelbase on the 7 tonne model, which maximises the possible body length for the chassis cab versions and adds even more adaptation opportunities for bodybuilders.
